Psychological drama thriller Do Not Hesitate is The Netherlands’s Oscar submission for the 94th Academy Awards in the category International Feature Film.

Produced by Lemming Film, Do Not Hesitate celebrated its world premiere at Tribeca in June 2021 and has since been selected for various film festivals worldwide. Do Not Hesitate is Shariff Korver’s second feature film. His debut feature The Intruder (2014) world premiered at Toronto and also screened at numerous other international festivals, among which First Time Fest in New York, where he won the awards for Best Film and Best Director. 

Out of 14 possible applications, DO NOT HESITATE was chosen by a selection committee consisting of 17 representatives from various Dutch film industry associations and organisations. The Academy will announce the shortlist on December the 21st and the nominations in all categories will be announced on February the 8th. The 94th Academy Awards will take place on March 27, 2022.

Do Not Hesitate is written by critically acclaimed screenwriter Jolein Laarman (Katia’s Sister, Kauwboy) and lensed by Nadim Carlsen, known for his work on the Cannes-winning feature Border (2018). 



The film is produced by Erik Glijnis, Leontine Petit and Emily Morgan for Lemming Film (NL) and co-produced by Heretic (GR) and NTR (NL), with support from the Netherlands Film Fund, Netherlands Film Fund Production Incentive, CoBO Fund, Greek Film Center, EKOME and the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, in collaboration with September Film (NL). International sales are handled by TrustNordisk.
